Hunter/Jumper Points |
---|
In a 'HUNTER' or 'JUMPER' class, it is the horse being judged (not the rider). Accordingly, points earned in hunter classes are awarded to the horse (not the rider). On the IHJA membership forms there is a section where you can identify the name under which you would like the horses' points to be listed (the form field says... "INDICATE THE OWNER/LEASEE NAME(s) TO BE SHOWN ON HORSE's POINTS/AWARDS"). You may choose to list the horse under your family's name, or under an individual member's name, or under the name of the horse's actual owner (for leased horses). All points earned by a horse in each HUNTER/JUMPER division will be combined together. The points will be listed under the name provided on the registration form (regardless of who rides the horse in the classes/division). A horse must be declared on either the A or the B HUNTER/JUMPER circuit, and can only earn hunter and jumper points on the circuit (A or B) declared on the registration form. |
Equitation Points |
In an 'EQUITATION' class, it is the rider who is being judged (not the horse). Accordingly, points earned in equitation classes are awarded to the rider (not the horse). All points earned by a rider in each EQUITATION division will be combined together. The points will be listed under the rider's (regardless of which horse, or horses, the rider uses in the classes/division). A rider must be declared on either the A or the B EQUITATION circuit, and can only earn equitation points on the circuit (A or B) declared on their registration form. Riders can only participate in medals classes on the EQUITATION circuit (A or B) declared on their registration form. |
